What did The Theater Project do? We innovated to find ways to serve our community by relocating as many programs as possible to virtual platforms. We provided isolated people with avenues for interaction, entertainment, and self-expression – a sense of normalcy.
Our “shut-down” is surprisingly active: we are offering more and more virtual performances, workshops for playwrights, readings/discussions of new work, author interviews, consciousness-raising programs and free and low-cost classes for kids-- all online.
Of course, this means we can never stop fundraising if we want to survive as a resource for our community and come back stronger than ever when the theater doors open again.
We know that during this historic and challenging time, your thoughts and gifts may be elsewhere – to our healthcare workers and those in need. But we would be most grateful if you could also find it in your heart to support The Theater Project as well. We all know – more now than ever – how important the arts are in keeping us engaged and inspired. Help us to continue to provide that essential ingredient.
